On Aug 24-25, NDA Junior Emma H. participated in a relay swim of the 21-mile Catalina Channel.

Emma was 1 of 6 teenagers plus 6 adult swimmers to complete this overnight open ocean feat, swimming 1 hour (approximately 2 miles) from 11:15 pm - 12:15 am and then another hour from 5:15 - 6:15 am.

The swim took 10 hours and 38 minutes and began at 10:15 pm at Doctor's Cove, Two Harbors, Catalina and ended just before 9 am at Smuggler's Cove in Palos Verdes.

NDA Head Swim Coach Carly Miller was on board the Pacific Star coaching Emma and her teammates, which also included 2023 NDA Assistant Swim Coach Michelle Cortrite.

Emma and her relay teammates will be honored at the annual Catalina Channel Swim Federation banquet in November.
